Senior Govt Officers Leave For
Korea To Learn Public Policy

Begawan - Sixteen senior government officers participating in
the 12th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government
Officers (EDPSGO) left for the Republic of Korea yesterday evening
for a five-day visit to learn public policy.
Heading the delegation is the
Director of Development and Management at the Public service
Department, Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Muhd Husain and the
programme coordinator is Dr Hajah Sainah binti Haji Salm, Head of
the Institute of Policy Studies cum Senior Lecturer at Universiti
Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
During the visit, the participants
are expected to visit among others, the Korea Tourism Organisation,
Central Officials Training Institute, Institute of Foreign Affairs
and National Security and Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
The Executive Development Programme
is a 14-week full time programme of intensive lectures and seminars,
orientation and overseas study trip and the preparation of group
projects for selected senior government officers as preparation for
confirmation and/or promotion to the post of Director.
The programme is sponsored by the
Public Service Department, Prime Minister's Office, Brunei
Darussalam. UBD has been commissioned to act as the agency to
conduct the training programme with assistance from other government
organisations. In the last four years, senior government officers
from the CLMV (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam) countries in
