Bandar Seri Begawan - Jalan Sungai in the Belait District has entered the final stage of an extensive renovation.

After so many years without any considerable upgrade, the picturesque area is now bracing to become a popular spot in the district.

In addition to a wider pavement, the area has also received new streetlights to provide visitors with better view during the night.

Once completed, Jalan Sungai will become a top destination for those looking to spend time outdoor with families and friends, backed bay a breathtaking view.

It will also service as the perfect spot for the health conscious to jog or brisk walk on the new pavement.

The renovation work also includes the construction of new concrete drainage, particularly Wan Sultan, which is the link road between Jalan Maulana and Satan Sungai.

Fishing is a common activity in the area, particularly during the night. Scores of enthusiastic anglers can be seen along the stretch of the river, with some making use of the old wooden shed, which is also a pick-up point for residents of Kampong Sungai Teraban who use boats as their mode of transportation between the village and the mainland. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
