Ayuverdic Massage Centre In KB
By Liza Mohd
Kuala
Belait - Bruneians, especially those with certain conditions,
can now try Kerala's renowned treatment with the recent opening of
an Ayurvedic Massage Centre in Kg Pandan of Kuala Belait.
Trained masseur Anish K R said that
it is a form of traditional healthcare practised widely in India
that proves very popular with Westerners and Europeans who visit its
spa retreat. Using oils fortified with special herbs, the massage
techniques used include tapping, kneading and squeezing, among many
other kinds of strokes.
They are designed to detoxify and
cleanse, boost the immune system's effectiveness, as well as
maintaining good health and improving one's overall well being.
According to masseuse Bindhu K N, one 13-year-old boy who has been
suffering spinal problems for about five years showed tremendous
signs of improvements after signing up for multi-sessions.
Ayurvedic
massages have surprising medicinal benefits and are also used as a
diagnostic tool by experienced masseuses. Instead of a massage
chair, customers are made to lie on a slippery wooden board and a
session normally lasts about an hour.
The centre, which is the first of
its kind in Brunei, has separate rooms catering to both male and
female customers. -- Courtesy of Borneo
