Prince Mohamed In Egypt For Asia-Mideast

Begawan - His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister
of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak
Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Zariah arrived yesterday in Sharm El
Sheikh, Egypt, to attend the Second Ministerial Meeting of
Asia-Middle East Dialogue (AMED II) from April 5-6, 2008.
Upon arrival at Al Ahliah Airport,
Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by the Deputy Chief of
Protocol, Ambassador Soha Ibrahim Refa'at El-Far and senior
officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic
of Egypt, a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Trade stated.
The Theme for the AMED II is
"Partnership in Action Towards a Better Future".
The meeting is
expected to be opened by Mr Ahmed About Gheit, Minister of Foreign
Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as the host of the meeting,
as well as the new Chairman of the Dialogue; followed by a statement
by Mr George Yong-Boon Yeo, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the
Republic of Singapore, in his capacity as the outgoing Chairman of
the Dialogue. Prominent speakers and moderators from Asia an the
Middle East will address different issues and topics of the meeting.
The Meeting will focus on three
tracks: Political Issues, Economic Issues, and Social, Scientific,
and Media Issues.
The Asia-Middle East Dialogue was launched in
Singapore in June 2005 with a view to realising greater
understanding between Asia and the Middle East at governmental and
non-governmental level to foster a comprehensive mutually beneficial
cooperation and cement innovative and practical interrelationship
