DPMM FC To Host Penang
By James Kon
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Brunei DPMM FC will be reverting back to its
successful formula of 3-5-2 formation when they face Pulau Pinang in
the TM Super League at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on Saturday
night.
This season under former coach
Stoykov, Brunei DPMM FC were not doing well under the 4-4-2 system.
Under new coach Suminic, the team will play the 3-5-2 system against
Pulau Pinang, the same formation that brought Brunei I3PMM FC much
success last year by taking the third spot.
In an interview with Borneo
Bulletin, Suminic who favours the 3-5-2 formation said: "The 3-5-2
system is very good for the team but the coach before me had changed
the system to 4-4-2. We will try out the new formation against Pulau
Pinang."
Already without inspirational
captain Rosmin Kamis and striker Fadlin Gelawat, Brunei DPMM FC will
be playing on Saturday without the service of Hardi Bujang who was
suspended with six yellow cards.
Sairol
Shari and Md Wardun Yussof might alsomiss the Pulau Pinang game
after picking up injuries at the Kedah clash last Sunday.
Brunei DPMM FC reserve goalkeeper
Hamzah might be called on to man the posts on Saturday.
"It will be a very important game
for us especially there only five matches left in the league. We
have to recover from the defeat by league leader Kedah," said
Suminic. "I hope the team will put up a good show like the friendly
match against the Best Selection of Brunei League and start winning
games."
"We will see the progress of Wardun
these few days on whether he is fit enough to play. Currently, I am
happy with the import players, however we are still in need of
strikers. Shahrazen who is back from injuries, still need time to
regain his confidence of scoring and he will be partnering Azwan
Salleh on Saturday."
On Pulau Pinang, Suminic said: "All
the teams in the league want to win especially Pulau Pinang when
they are facing relegation. We are preparing very seriously for this
game and the remaining games."
On the team's prospect of being
relegated, he said: "I have been in this situation many times in my
life, I trust my team and myself that we can pull through in the
last five games to avoid relegation."
He also urges all local football
fans to come out in force to support Brunei DPMM FC during the few
remaining home games. -- Courtesy of Borneo
