Fostering Community Spirit Among Students
By Aemy Azlena

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 60 students from International School Brunei (ISB), along with their teachers, visited Pusat Bahagia yesterday as part of their ongoing efforts to foster community spirit among the students.

Leading the group, comprising Year 8 students, was Creativity, Action, Service Coordinator Debbie Canterford.

Among the objectives of the visit were: to provide the students a chance to experience a sense of satisfaction from doing proactive planning and working with peers; to expose them to the world of disabilities; and to inspire others while becoming more positive.

While at Pusat Bahagia, the students took part in a number of activities, such as painting, teaching music, making friendship bracelets for Pusat Bahagia students, gardening, and renovating the stairways and classrooms.

According to the students, the students at Pusat Bahagia were friendly, thus, it didn't take a lot of effort to communicate or connect with them. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
