Bandar Seri Begawan - Sekolah Ugama Pengiran Anak Puteri Norain in the Tutong District held a religious talk as well as an Al-Quran reading competition for Primary Four, Five and Six students yesterday.

The event was held in conjunction with this year's Maulidur Rasul or Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday.

Organised by the Al-Quran Body and Activities Body of the school, the event started with a mass reading of Surah al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Hamidon bin Hj Subohi followed by a welcoming speech by the school headmistress, Cikgu Hjh Zuraidah bin Hj Zainal.

The religious talk was delivered by a guest speaker from Mahad Islam, Ustaz Hj Marmin bin Hj Idris who talked about the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the significance of Maulud.

Later, the Al-Quran reading competition began involving the Primary Four, Five and Six students.

After the competition, a Dakwah lecture was delivered by Mohammad Rifat Atiyah Hj Anwari, the recent winner of the 15th Religious School National Level Syarahan Tafsir Al-Quran Competition.

Prizes were then presented to winners of the Quran recital competition by the guest speaker.
