27 Teams Or Takraw Meet

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Total of 27 teams representing their respective mukim across the nation will vie for honour in the `Piala Johan Pahlawan' Sepaktakraw Tournament in conjunction with the 24th National Day celebrations which kicked off last night until April 6.

Present at the opening ceremony held at the Multi-purpose Hall, Fire and Rescue Services, was the guest-ofhonour Pengiran Abd Haris bin Pengiran Haji Shabudin, Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Home Affairs.

The tournament is split into two categories, namely Inter-Regu and Double Regu. The participating teams included teams from Kilanas, Sengkurong, Gadong, Batu Apoi Pengkalan Batu, Kota Batu, Berakas and Kuala Belait.

The seven-day event was organised by Gadong A and Gadong B Consultative Council in collaboration with Brunei Sepaktakraw Referee Association (PEPESTA), Brunei Muara District Department and Youth and Sports Department.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
