Pencak Silat' Demonstration

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Sports School and Delima Satu Primary School jointly organised a "pencak silat" demonstration at the Delima Satu Multipurpose Hall recently.

On hand to oversee the event was "pencak silat" coach Cikgu Hj Adanan Ahad along with education officers from the Sports School.

Also present were senior teachers of Delima Satu Primary School as well as Deputy Principal of the Sports School Cikgu Khalid bin Hj Sulaiman.

The demonstration was part of the Sports School's annual programme and part of students' training to measure their skills and performance. The event also aimed to prepare students mentally and physically for any event or tournament, to raise interest in the martial art and to promote the "pencak silat" scheme of the school.

Putting on the demonstration were 13 students from the Sports School who performed several key steps of `pencak silat' including 'Salem', `Sikap Pasang', 'Creative Solo', `Seni Akrobat', Silat Olahraga', 'Ganda Lelaki', 'Ganda Wanita' and 'Solo Bersenjata'. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
