Porsches & BMWs for holes-in-one

With the Porsche Cayman S, Porsche
Boxster 987, Porsche Boxster 986, BMW 523i and BMW 320i as the
hole-in-one prizes for holes 14, 2, 16, 5 and 12 respectively, the
12th Baiduri Bank Charity Golf tournament is set to be the most
prestigious golfing tournament in the Sultanate.
Local golfers with a handicap of up
to 36 for both men and women are welcome to take part in the
fundraising tournament which is scheduled to take place at the RBA
Golf Club from May 3-6, 2007. The registration fee is B$120 for
adults and $60 for junior golfers. The registration fee is inclusive
of green fee, buggy fee, buffet breakfast and lunch. The closing
date for registration is May 1.
The charity golf tournament
attracted some 420 golfers last year. This year, the numbers are
expected to exceed 500.
A signing ceremony between QAF
Motor Group and Baiduri Bank Bhd for the 12th Baiduri Bank Charity
Golf tournament took place at QAF Centre, Jln Beribi, yesterday
morning.
Dato
Paduka Chua Pheng Siong, General Manager of Business Development at
QAF Brunei Sdn Bhd, and Mr Roger Fletcher of QAF Auto signed on
behalf of QAF Brunei, while Mr Pierre Imhof, General Manager of
Baiduri Bank, and Mr Andrew Young, chairman of the event's
organising committee, signed on behalf of the bank.
Also present at the signing were
senior management and staff of Baiduri Bank, QAF Auto and QAF
Brunei.
The annual fundraising golf
tournament is organised by Baiduri Bank in collaboration with
strategic partners MasterCard International, Brunei Press Sdn Bhd,
QAF Auto Sdn Bhd, QAF Eurokars Sdn Bhd, QAF Brunei and Ben Foods (B)
Sdn Bhd.
The objective of the tournament is
to raise funds to support charitable foundations such as Pusat Ehsan,
CDC and SMARTER, among others. Members of the charities will also be
around to offer their handicraft for donations.
"It is a good opportunity to
contribute to a good cause and play golf with a big heart," said Mr
Andrew Young.
"Who knows? Someone might be lucky
enough to win a car."
In addition to the hole-in-one
prizes, there will be charity draw prizes and novelty prizes to be
won during the four-day event.
The format of play this year is
based on System 36 Stableford, which is hoped to help ensure greater
fair play. This year's rule committee comprises representatives from
Panaga Golf Club, Pantai Mentiri Golf Club, RBA Golf Club and RBGCC.
