Minister Keeps Watch On Teaching,
Learning At Brunei-Muara Schools

Abd Rahman bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Taib, the Minister of
Education, yesterday made a working visit to three government
primary schools in the Brunei-Muara District.
The first school he visited was
Batu Marang Primary School, where he was welcomed by the school's
principal, Cikgu Hjh Norliha bte Hj Metali. During his visit, the
minister witnessed the students engaging in several activities
including liadrah', choir, and traditional dance performances as
well as a physical exercise session.
Pehin Dato Hj Abd Rahman was also
briefed on the academic achievements of Batu Marang Primary School
students in PSR exams, which has shown significant improvement over
the last five years.
He also visited the school's
classrooms, science laboratories and Information Communication
Technology rooms, and observed teaching and learning activities in
English, Malay and Science subjects.
The minister then visited Tanah
Jambu Primary School, where he was welcomed by the principal, Cikgu
Hj Md Helmezulkifli. Pehin Hj Abd Rahman again observed teaching and
learning practices in the computer rooms, pre-school rooms and the
school library.
At Hj Mohd Salleh Primary School in
Sungai Hanching, the minister was briefed by the principal, Cikgu
Dyg Hjh Taisah bte Hj Nasir. This was followed by a discussion
session in which the minister gave serious attention to the quality
of teaching and learning at the school.
Apart from observing the teaching
and learning activities in the classrooms and in special classes,
Pehin Dato Hj Abd Rahman also met several of the teaching staff.
Accompanying the minister
throughout the working visit were the Deputy Minister of Education,
Permanent Secretary at the ministry as well as directors and senior
