Teachers, Officers Attend Talk
On Improving Learning
By Zasika Musdi
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Improving students' learning techniques takes more
than just motivation; teachers should be able to identify small
steps in realising what more students need in order to improve in
their studies.
This was stated by Mohd Fitri bin
Dr Hj Shukri, training manager and Facilitator from Amalan Belajar
Sdn Bhd (Malaysia), during his "Bijak Belajar and Super Teaching
Programme" talk that was held yesterday at the Civil Service
Institute in Rimba Gadong. Some 100 primary and secondary school
counselling teachers and education officers from all four districts
attended the talk.
The event was jointly organised by
the Counselling Section and Career Guidance Division of the
Department of Schools, Ministry of Education and A&A Management
Training Services.
Mohd Fitri said the mission of the
programme is to promote an excellent learning culture and habit
amongst students.
“There is no grand or big theory
behind improving a student's overall learning ability," he said,
adding that the programme is complimentary to what already exists in
most schools, especially in counselling sections.
The facilitator further said that
the programme "serves more as a reminder of the many small things
that would culminate in a very big impact".
"It is hoped that it will benefit
both the teachers and students in the long run," he added.-- Courtesy of Borneo
