Windows Vista Lights Up IT Fair
By FeiPhoon
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The Brunei-Muara District's latest IT fair seems to
have received a shot of credibility in the arm following Microsoft's
recent consumer launch of its latest operating system, Windows
Vista.
Like in similar events in the past,
laptops were in abundance at the Brunei PC Fair 2007, but this time
there were plenty of units running on Microsoft Windows Vista.
Vendors have packaged some of their
latest models to include the software for a slight extra charge and
have taken particular care to state that the software is genuine,
specifically the consumer-geared Home Basic flavour. Most sales
attendants seemed optimistic about the new sales angle afforded by
Microsoft's aggressive campaign to promote the use of original
products, and were pitching the operating system upgrade option
without qualms.
Shoppers will be spoiled for choice
with all-out displays of Sony, NEC, Acer and Asus laptops, as well
as that of leading motherboard manufacturer MSI and rising brand
Lenovo.
Other attractive items include the
quirky designer hard drives by French brand LaCie, which were highly
popular at past fairs, and ready-assembled gamer machines running
off Intel dual core processors.
Organising
company AMF Mas Event Management Services was delighted that all 39
slots offered for the event had found occupants.
