Brunei DPMM FC Host Kelantan Today
By Dannie Abu Basrah
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Brunei DPMM FC will host Kelantan tonight at the
Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in the fourth last game of the
2005/2006 Malaysian Premier League Group A season before they play
away to Perak UPB on May 6 followed by two tough home games to Kedah
and Sarawak on May 9 and 22 respectively.
Tonight's game is important to Brunei
DPMM FC as they stand the chance to climb up to third place with a
win, their highest season standing,- but will also depend on the
result at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium as they need the
favour of the host, current league leaders Terengganu to beat Johor
who are currently third with a game in hand.
Both teams come into tonight's match
from a 4-2 victory previously as Brunei DPMM FC came from behind to
beat Pulau Pinang NTFA at the Batu Kawan stadium while Kelantan
defeated Perak UPB on home ground, the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota
Baru.
Tiago
Dos Santos will certainly be looking forward to the match as the
Brazilian is looking hot from his comeback helping Brunei DPMM FC to a
4-2 victory over Pulau Pinang NTFA previously, scoring his second hat
trick of the season contributing to his nine goals tally.
The Brazilian's first hat-trick came
in the second round clash between Brunei DPMM FC and coincidently
tonight's opponent, Kelantan, on March 4 as he netted a hat-trick in
the 5-1 home win.
But Kelantan emerged as winners in
the first round as they beat Brunei DPMM FC 2-0 at the Sultan Mohd IV
Stadium.
Meanwhile in other matches, Sarawak
will host Pulau Pinang NTFA at the Sarawak Stadium in Kuching while
Kedah travel to the TLDM Stadium in Lumut to take on Perak UPB.
At the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah
Stadium, league leaders Terengganu will host third placed Johor.
