Law Enforcement Officials Attend
Anti-Terror Course
By James Kon
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Three Bruneian law enforcement officials gained some
insight on how terrorist organisations operate after attending a
weeklong workshop on "Combating Domestic and Transnational Terrorism"
in Thailand.
The course, which was held at the
International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Bangkok, was sponsored
by the US Department of State's Anti-terrorism Assistance Office.
According to a press release issued
by the US Embassy, the workshop aimed to provide participants with an
interactive learning experience that is focused on enhancing their
investigative and analytical skills in combating terrorism.
The overall theme of the workshop was
`relationship building' and `perseverance'.
Thanks to the workshop, the
participants now have a better understanding of how terrorist
organisations operate such as tactics used by terrorists and the
infrastructure of terrorist organisations.
Participants also discussed
recognising major terrorist organisations within their countries, the
region and worldwide. The value and benefits of sharing information
and recourse with other law enforcement organisations in the region
were also highlighted. --
