Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony At Danau Mosque

Tutong - A Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was held yesterday at the Danau Mosque in Tutong. The function was held to mark the completion of the recital of the at-Quran by a certain individual or group.

The ceremony began at 9am and was attended by the local residents. The event was organised by the Danau Village Council in cooperation with the Danau mosque.

About 30 women readers participated in the Khatam al-Quran session. The guest of honour at the function was Dayang Hjh Rokiah Binti Mohammad, the wife of the Deputy District Officer of Tutong.

The ceremony began with a surah al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour, which was followed by recital of the surah or religious verses bythe ladies.

A recital of Tahtim and doa khatam were held after the surah recital. The Dikir Asyragal and sprinkling of 'Bunga Rampai' performed by the guests were also conducted at the function.
