In collaboration with the Pakistan
High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan, the Pakistan Women Association
organised a memorable family get-together dinner in conjunction with
the 64th Anniversary of Pakistan Day, at the Fire Service Department's
Multipurpose Hall.
The function started with a
recitation from the Holy Quran. The event's highlights were a range of
activities that included many games, quizzes and a memory test. They
were widely participated by children from as young as under five years
old to the older kids, as well as parents.
In addition, there were three-minute
extempore speeches from husbands about the culture of, places in and
important information on Pakistan, as well as qualities and positive
attributes of their spouses.
The audience remained spellbound for
around five hours from the intellectual simulation and interesting
presentations. Attended by about 50 Pakistani families, the function
also had a lavish dinner hosted by the PWA.
Its chairperson, Mrs Saleha Farhat
Badr-ud-Deen and chief guest, Mr Badr-ud-Deen, the High Commissioner
of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam, made a lasting impression with their
personal involvement and handling of most items.
The High Commissioner felt proud
presenting the children with their gifts, some of which were also
given away by the chairperson.
In her speech, Mrs Badr-ud-Deen
expressed the important role of PWE coordinators and her appreciation
of their contributions in assisting with fundraising activities for
various occasions, as well as the arrangements in making this event a
success.
