15-foot python still awaiting fate
By Rosli Abidin Yahya

The 15-foot python in its cramped cage.
A week has gone by since a python was
captured by a group of Indonesian foreign workers in Kg Menglait,
Gadong, but the 15-foot snake is still coiled in the small iron cage
awaiting its fate.
The Indonesian workers said yesterday
that a buyer had paid $300 to own the python but until yesterday, the
"new owner" had not claimed it.
"It has not eaten anything for one
week," said the Indonesians, who kept the caged beast inside their
room beside a garage where they work as car cleaners.
They said they were not sure what
would happen to the python, whether it would end up on a dinner table
or kept as pet by the buyer.
The Bulletin meanwhile published a
letter from a member of the public yesterday who hoped that the python
would be released to its natural habitat in the jungle.
