Gayoh'

May 1 marks the end of the
paddy-harvesting session, around the time when the country's Dusun
community celebrates its annual "Adau Gayoh." This year, the
festival will be held on May 4 with the theme " Pakatan Kukuh
Masyarakat Maju" as organised by the Dusun Welfare Society.
The event will be held at the
Multi-Purpose Hall of Pakatan Sang Jati Dusun in Kampung Bukit Udal,
Tutong.
Unique values based on the arts and
heritages of the Dusun communities will be showcased and the
celebration itself is expected to be launched by the Tutong District
Officer.
Highlights would include various
cultural performances by Sang Jati Dusun Cultural Troupe as well as an
exhibition on handicrafts.
Such efforts by the Dusun Communities
are very much encouraged as they help with the government's promotion
of the tourism industry.
The Dusun community holds the
celebration ahead from their counterparts like the Dayak in Sarawak,
which has their harvesting sessions on June 1 each year.
