The Jerudong Park and Country Club
will soon be launching its Charity Aid for Iraq. The programme will be
in support of the Humanitarian Fund for Iraqi people that was set up
with the consent of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of
Brunei Darussalam through the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports and
Ministry of Religious Affairs.
This was said in a press briefing
yesterday afternoon by the Playground Manager, Mr Chua Pheng Chai.
The objective is to provide
facilities for the staffs, members and visitors as well as the public
in general to give their donations, which would be in monetary value.
Donation boxes will be set up at
various locations on JPCC properties.
They will remain at such strategic
locations until August 2 before being sent to the National Committee
for the fund.
The launch pad for the Charity Aid
will be the concert at 8 pm on June 1 at the JPCC Amphitheatre.
The Musicaid Concert will be
featuring local artistes and groups performing various types of songs.
Concert tickets will be sold at B$10
and every $2 from the ticket sold will be donated to the fund set up
by JPCC.
Other events that are being lined up
include the Iraq Charity Bazaar at the JPCC Playground, the JPCC
Playground Fun Race and the Charity Carnival for Iraq to be held in
the JPCC Garden.
