National Research Workshop concludes

The 'National Research Workshop' organised by the Postgraduate Studies and Research Office of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) concluded yesterday afternoon. The Vice Chancellor of UBD, Dr Hj Ismail Hj Duraman was present to officially close the workshop.

During welcoming remarks made by Dr Hj Mohd Yusop Hj Awang Damit, the Chairman of the Organising Committee for the National Workshop on Research, it was understood that the workshop had achieved its objectives.

Albeit being a brief workshop, participants were made aware of various ideas and information on research methods.

The chairman hoped that the new knowledge gained by participants could be used to benefit themselves as well as the nation in general. He was pleased by the enthusiasm displayed by everyone involved and hoped that participants would undertake research activities in the future.

Dr Hj Ismail Hj Duraman concluded the workshop by stating that Bruneians are now becoming more aware of the benefits that education has to offer, hence developing their thirst for knowledge.

"Development and the survival of a nation depends on education, knowledge and skills. These elements are even more important now that we are focusing on a knowledge-based economy," he said.

Prior to concluding the ceremony, participants received a certificate of participation from the Vice Chancellor.
