Workshop to enhance managerial effectiveness

A two-day workshop on "Enhancing Managerial Effectiveness" will be held on May 5 and 6, at the AEMC Sukma Indera Hall at 8.30 am. According to the ASEAN-EC Management Centre "the competitive environment, national and global, and the continuous changes that are taking place will have a profound effect on the managers.

Therefore, managers must be sensitive to the changing business dimensions, the need to continually keep up with the best applicable practices and the challenges of globalisation.

Besides these, they must also posses the ability to stimulate creativity and innovation".

Mr Abdul Hamid Bin Hj Abdullah, the Managing Director and Principal Managing Consultant of EMC Management Centre Sdn Bhd, EMC Management Consultancy Sdn Bhd and Talent & Human Capital Solutions Sdn Bhd will be the guest speaker at the workshop.

Among the contents of the workshop will be the Business Strategy and the Managerial Job, Managerial Competencies and Performance Management, Leadership and Management, Time Management and Communication.

From this workshop the participants will be able to understand self and people behaviour, improve performance management competencies, appreciate time management principles, improve communication amongst employees and establish greater gross-functional cooperation teams.

The ASEAN-EC Management Centre went on to say that many managers in organisation has the technical skills and competencies to perform the task that they are assigned to, but they are often unprepared to manage human-related issues.
