Around 35 students and 5 teachers
from the Pegiran Anak Puteri Hjh Masna secondary school went on an
educational visit to the Islamic Development Bank of Brunei Berhad
Headquarters in Kiulap. The main objective of the visit was to expose
the students to the banking operation and its facilities, as well as
to encourage the students to pursue a career in the Islamic banking
industry.
During the visit, Mohd Sharoll
briefed the students on the services and the well diversified accounts
the bank provided, particularly the Al Wadiah Education Account and
the Al Mudharabah Savings Account. The Al Wadiah Education account for
instance could help students to plan their future studies.
The students were also introduced to
the Al Falah Education Financing Scheme where the scheme provides
facilities for those students who are interested in continuing their
studies at a higher level.
During the briefing, Mohd Sharoll
explained to the students the difference between conventional banking
system and the Islamic banking system. At the end of the presentation,
souvenirs were given to students who were able to answer quiz
questions posed by Mohd Sharoll.
At the end of the visit, the school
and the bank exchanged souvenirs. One of the teachers was impressed by
the presentation stating that it was very informative and the students
paid close attention throughout the whole briefing. It is hoped that
after the educational visit, the students will be able to comprehend
the Islamic banking system and consider taking up a career in the
banking industry.
