The Thai man, residing at a squatter house in Sg Liang was immediately arrested, following a raid on Monday night which started at about 9 pm.

Five rental houses and working quarters within KB district were inspected during the raid with the operation codenamed "Operation Benteras 22" conducted by 13 Immigration Officers.

A Malaysian man was also issued a special pass after he was unable to provide the officers with documents to prove his legal stay in Brunei.

The purposes of the operation run by the KB Immigration Department of Enforcement Section, was to conduct inspection at the residence and rental houses of the foreign workers, to ensure that they did not breach the Immigration Act and Rules following the previous arrest for offences such as overstaying, runaway workers and other related offences.
