End of the road for runaway Thai

The Thai man who was arrested during the raid, as he allegedly stay in
Brunei
illegally for a period of nine years
The Kuala Belait Immigration
Enforcement Section had managed to uncover the hiding place of a Thai
man who has been on a hideout for about nine years after allegedly
running away from his employer and overstaying in Brunei illegally.
The Thai man, residing at a squatter house in Sg Liang was immediately
arrested, following a raid on Monday night which started at about 9
pm.
Five rental houses and working
quarters within KB district were inspected during the raid with the
operation codenamed "Operation Benteras 22" conducted by 13
Immigration Officers.
A Malaysian man was also issued a
special pass after he was unable to provide the officers with
documents to prove his legal stay in Brunei.
The purposes of the operation run by
the KB Immigration Department of Enforcement Section, was to conduct
inspection at the residence and rental houses of the foreign workers,
to ensure that they did not breach the Immigration Act and Rules
following the previous arrest for offences such as overstaying,
runaway workers and other related offences.
