Couple held for drug in Kg Ayer

Officers of the "Special
Movement Squad" team yesterday morning conducted a raid at the
house no: 167 J 1, Kg Saba Darat, Kg Ayer, in Bandar Seri Begawan. A
local man, 32 and a Malaysian woman, 25, were detained after the
Narcotic Control Bureau seized 100 packets of the Methylamphetamine
controlled drug or known as "Syabu" packed in different
sizes.
It was believed teach packet costs
$30, $50 and $100. The couple's activities were scrutinised a week
ahead of the raid.
During an inspection at the house,
eight drugs addicts were arrested. They were believed to be taking and
purchasing the controlled drugs. They are under investigation.
With the couple's arrest, the
Narcotic Control Bureau also successfully defeated another drug
dealing activity at the Kampong Ayer area. The couple was detained for
further investigation for dealing with the controlled drug, an offence
under the Misuse of the Drug Act.
The Narcotic Control Bureau called on
the members of the public especially the society head, to be more
responsible within their village area and to give their co-operation
and lodge a report on any drug-related activities.
