American Envoy Visits Scouts Association Headquarters

Bandar Seri Begawan - United States Ambassador Gene B. Christy paid a visit to the Brunei Darussalam Scout Association Headquarters yesterday.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pehin Dato Haji Awang Mohd Ali, who is the President of the Brunei Scout Association, welcomed him.

During the tour, the American envoy watched a quick action demonstration by the scout members in setting up camp and hoisting of the flag.

Mr Christy then viewed an exhibition featuring various national and international activities that the scouts were engaged in.

There was also a collection of stamps commemorating the International Jamboree that was held in Greece in 1963 of which both Mr Christy and the President of the Scout Association attended.

Mr Christy also paid a courtesy call on the President of the Scout Association, where he exchanged bilateral interests pertaining to scouting and other related matters. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
