UBD To Set Up Primary Health Care
In 2004

Begawan - University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) through its
Institute of Medicine will establish Diploma in Primary Health Care
Programme with the support of Saint George's Hospital Medical of
School, London and the Ministry of Health.
The Vice Chancellor of UBD, Dr Haji
Ismail said the programme is expected to commence in 2004.
"UBD is currently pursuing
accreditation of this programme from the Royal College of General
Practitioners at the undergraduate level," he said.
Plans are also on the way for UBD to
gradually develop its own Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery,
MBBS and Allied Health Science programmes.
The Vice Chancellor was speaking at
the opening of the Teaching Skills Workshop yesterday
It is organise by UBD Institute of
Medicine with the collaboration of the St George's Hospital of Medical
School, London.
The two-day workshop is designed to
support the professional development needs of individuals in the
health care profession, within Brunei.
More than 20 medical and health
officers from government and non-government hospitals, including
lecturers from the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah
College of Nursing are attending the workshop. -- Courtesy of
