Brunei Joins Bali Conference on Human Smuggling

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei will participate in the 2nd Bali Regional Ministerial Conference (BRMC) on people smuggling, trafficking in persons and related trans-national crime set to start tomorrow in Bali, Indonesia.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Adanan, led Brunei's delegation who departed for Bali , Indonesia yesterday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dato Haji Abdul Rahman, will be attending a Senior Officers Level Meeting.

The delegation includes the Director of the Immigration and National Registration, senior officers from the Ministries of Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Attorney General Department, the Royal Brunei Police Force and the Internal Security Department.

The conference will discuss proposals of 'Ad-Hoc One' group specialists to upgrade regional and international cooperation and 'Ad-Hoc Two' group specialists to improve cooperation between law enforcement agencies in handling issues on smuggling and trafficking in persons and related trans-national crimes. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
