The Learning Tree School will be the
first in the country to provide certificates in Information
Communication Technology (that are internationally recognised) for
their students at an early age. This initiative was officiated
yesterday, based on the memorandum of understanding signed between
Kemuda and The Learning Tree School on the school's premises.
The documents were signed by Hajah
Mahani bte Haji Osman, the Principal and Safa Abdullah Khan, the
Marketing, Business Development Officer of Kemuda.
Also present to witness the signing
ceremony was Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Muhammad, the
Chairman of the Kemuda Institute.
The Principal also made brief
welcoming remarks. She mentioned that the introduction of the
Cambridge Starters Awards in ICT scheme is a result of the cooperation
between the two aforementioned local organisations.
Furthermore, she added, it was done
to encourage participation of students in this scheme as the cost of
each level of examination will be subsidised by $35.00.
With such incentives, the school is
being proactive to move forward and make contributions in sustaining
and supporting the nation's ambitions of ICT.
She also explained that this was also
evident in the school's online presence at www.learningtreebrunei.com.
The Bulletin has been told that the
lecturer for the scheme in this school will be Mr Ricky Manalo. He is
one of the personnel from the Kemuda Institute, with seven years of
experience in this field.
