KB to hold landscaping contest

The Belait district will be organising a cleanliness and landscaping competition in conjunction with the 57th Birthday Celebrations of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam for the year 2003. The organiser said that the main aim of the competition was to foster awareness at all levels of the community on the importance of a clean, comfortable and beautiful living environment through landscaping.

Other aims are to share experience and knowledge and to hold a healthy competition that enhances and promotes creativity in producing good landscaping.

The competition will be divided into 10 categories, namely: National Housing and Landless scheme category, Public Housing, Government Residential, Brunei Shell residential, Government and Non- Government primary school, Government and Non-Government secondary school, Government and Private Buildings, Police and Fire Stations, Mosques and surau's and the special category.

The competition is open to all residents in Belait District only. Participating forms can be obtained from and must be submitted to Dayang Meriani bte Abdul Rahman at the Town and Country Planning Department, Belait District Office Building or Dayang Hajah Kamarjhan bte Abdul Aziz at HEA/3, BLNG Co Sdn Bhd, Lumut, not later than Thursday, May 29, 2003 at 4 pm.
