Living up to royal customs
People bestowed with a title must
realise that the public look up to them as an undeniable authority on
Brunei royal customs -- a reality that no one can deny. This was
stated by the Assistant Chief of Adat Istiadat at the opening of a
workshop on Brunei royal customs for the people who are bestowed a
title. Pengiran Dato Hj Ahmad said that in the eyes of the public, the
behavior of those conferred with a title will reflect the tradition,
RTB reported yesterday.
To avoid negative perception among
the public, they have to act accordingly and should learn more on the
royal customs. They should also hold discussions among themselves to
share the knowledge on Brunei royal customs.
The four-day workshop is being
attended by 65 people who have been bestowed titles comprising of
imams, government officials, penghulus and ketua kampongs. It is
jointly organised by the Public Service Institute and the Department
of Adat Istiadat Negara.
