Housing Development Dept holds Bicyclethon expedition

About 300 cyclists participated in the 3rd Bicyclethon Expedition yesterday, organised by Badan Kebajikan Sukan "Berumah" of the Housing Development Department to commemorate their 50th Golden Jubilee and the country's 19th National Day celebration. The chief guest at the event was Awang Hj Md Jumin bin Hj Marsal, Acting Permanent Secretary (Professional and Technical) of the Ministry of Development.

The bicyclethon team was led by the chief guest and the Acting Director of the Housing Development Department, Awang Hj Md Zin bin Hj Salleh.

The bicyclethon expedition covered a distance of 40 kilometres, and started from the Housing Development Department and Electrical Department Services parking lot following a route and then returning to the starting point.

A 73-year-old man Awang Hj Basar bin Hj Bakar of Kampung Suran in Tutong was among the participating cyclists.

He told the Bulletin that his main reason for taking part in the outdoor sport was for physical fitness and fun.

The event ended with a lucky draw competition and a souvenir presentation to the chief guest.
