Another Fishing Operation Near Offshore rigs

Bandar Seri Begawan - An operation to ensure that fishermen abide by the rules and regulations on offshore oil field installations according to fisheries act took place yesterday.

The joint operation called "Operasi Kembura 6" involved several law enforcement agencies.

The operation was focussed at four locations of fish docking bay in Kampong Kuala Tutong.

The operation was also to ensure licensing regulations for fishing issued by the Fisheries Department are adhered to as well as to ensure companies abide by the rules and regulations of the Labour and Immigration Department.

This is specifically in regards to the employment of illegal fishermen in the waters of Brunei.

The Fisheries Department role's is to ensure that all acts and regulations of fishing activities are obeyed.
