Foreman's Mystery Death: It's Heart Attack

Bandar Seri Begawan - The police investigating the mysterious circumstances leading to the death of a young KB Public Works Department foreman said yesterday that he died of a heart attack.

Autopsy results showed that Awang Nizam bin Haji Yusuf, 36, suffered a massive heart attack because of exhaustion, Sunday Bulletin learnt.

The Sunday Bulletin learnt that Awang Nizam and his two men, Awang Ipap anak Jaro and Awang Anyau anak Dany were at the worksite last Wednesday to measure the distance of some unfinished drainage work.

It appeared that they had covered some distance under the intense heat of the sun on that fateful morning from the moment they arrived at the worksite. Later when they completed the job, they walked back covering the same distance that took them some half an hour to complete.

All of them had become exhausted but unfortunately for Awang Nizam, it appeared that he had been suffering from a heart problem. The autopsy revealed that he suffered a heart attack and had succumbed to it, said sources.

The police investigating the mysterious death of Awang Nizam therefore have ruled out foul play or any theory to indicate that he had died after accidentally inhaling some kind of toxic gas, the sources said. Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
