Thai Admiral's Visit Boost Ties With Sultanate

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei and Thailand have further boosted relations in the areas of Naval Defence with the visit of Thailand's Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai Navy to the country.

Admiral Daweesak Somabha who's in the country for a two-day official visit yesterday paid separate courtesy calls on the Deputy Minister of Defence and the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Admiral Daweesak Somabha and delegation first paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Pehin Dato Major General Haji Awang Halbi. Also present was the Thai Ambassador to Brunei, Mr Sunthon Niyomyath.

Admiral Somabha later paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister of Defence, Pengiran Major General (Retired) Pengiran Haji Ibnu Ba'asith.

The Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, Colonel Haji Joharie, accompanied the visiting Thailand's Commander in Chief during the calls.

Also present was the Thai Ambassador to Brunei, Mr Sunthon Niyomyath.

The function took place at the Bolkiah Garrison in Berakas.
