Building Of Houses In Kampong Ayer Needs Permission 

Bandar Seri Begawan - Building, renovating, or extending houses in Kampong Ayer are strictly prohibited unless written permission is first obtained from the district officer.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Dato Haji Adanan emphasised this at a ceremony to present the letter of appointment to the Penghulu Of Mukim Tamoi, on Thursday night.

Dato Haji Adanan in his address said the need for penghulus and kampung ketuas to portray a receptive attitude and their readiness to meet the villagers at any time.

He also reminded the villagers on the law and regulations concerning building in the water village.

The Head of Mukim, Pengarah Haji Mokti at the function received his letter of appointment from the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.

Pengarah Haji Mokti has been the Penghulu of Mukim Tamoi since March 1.

He was appointed the Ketua of Kampong Tamoi Ujong in December 1975. Mukim Tamoi is made up of four kampongs with a population of 2,499 people.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
