Thai admiral visits Bolkiah
Garrison
Brunei Darussalam and Thailand have
further boosted relations in the areas of naval defence with the visit
of Thailand's Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy to the
country. Admiral Daweesak Somabha, in part of a two-day official
visit, paid separate courtesy calls yesterday morning on the Deputy
Minister of Defence and the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed
Forces, RTB reported yesterday.
Admiral Daweesak Somabha and
delegation first paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Royal
Brunei Armed Forces, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Laila Raja Major
General Hj Awg Halbi.
Admiral Somabha later paid a courtesy
call on the Deputy Minister of Defence, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran
Sanggamara Diraja Major General (Retired) Pengiran Hj Ibnu Ba'asith.
The visiting Thai Commander-in-Chief
was accompanied during the calls by the Acting Commander of the Royal
Brunei Navy, Colonel Hj Joharie. Also present was the Thai Ambassador
to Brunei Darussalam, Mr Sunthon Niyomyath. The function took place at
the Bolkiah Garrison in Berakas.
