Belait Picks To Religious Schools
For Dikir Contest
Kuala Belait - The
Belait District has selected two religious schools to represent the
district to the semi final of the National Level Rawi and Dikir
Syarafil Anam Competition.
The schools were selected after they
won the Rawi and Dikir Syarafil Anam competition for the district
level.
The Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah
Sa'adatul Bolkiah from Seria emerged as champion of the Dikir Syarafil
Anam Competition after beating eight other schools while the Sungai
Liang Religious School beat seven other schools to win the Rawi
contest.
The competition was aimed at
developing and promoting the talents of the pupils in Rawi and Dikir
presentation.
It was also part of the efforts of
the school co-curriculum to encourage the pupils to get involve in
community activities.
The competition is the annual project
of the Religious Schools Co-Curriculum Department.
The function took place at the
Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Religious School in
Seria yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Temburong District
also held a Rawi competition to select representatives for the
district.
Nine teams representing Religious
schools and Arab preparatory school contested in the Temburong
District level.
Ability in Rawi reading is most
encouraged especially among young people as an effort to add more
religious knowledge.
Older generation reads Rawi as part
of their daily religious practices, and for young generation Rawi
could help lessen unhealthy activities. -- Courtesy
