Palestine Fund Gets Well Under Way

Religious Affairs Minister Pehin Dr Ustaz Mohd Zain

Various activities continued in the country to raise money for the
Palestine Humanitarian Fund and a charity sale was held in the Belait
District yesterday for the purpose.
The Minister of the Religious
Affairs, Pehin Dato Dr Ustaz Awang Haji Mohd Zain at the Muhammad
Jamalul Alam Mosque in Kuala Belait officially launched it.
The Religious Affairs Minister in his
address said Islam encourage its followers to help relieve the burden
of Muslim brothers and free them from atrocities.
Pehin Mohd Zain added a Muslim should
not abandon his brother when he is in trouble especially when he is
oppressed by non-Muslims.
He also said Allah the Almighty will
reward those who give alms sincerely. Thus he called for members of
the public not to miss the opportunity to donate for that good cause.
Shortly after the official launching,
the minister visited the stalls, gallery and exhibition put up by the
third battalion of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
The programmes also included cooking
contest as well as flower and traditional cakes competition. About 30
stalls were provided for the private sector, associations and
individuals to sell their products.
The seven-day charity sale at the
compound of the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque is open to the public
from 8.30am till 10pm. -- Courtesy
