It is a known fact that students tend
to absorb more knowledge through exposure to practical studies than in
classrooms, including interesting study trips and so on. The Head
Office of the Islamic Development Bank of Brunei (IDBB) yesterday
afternoon opened its doors to welcome students and teachers from the
Ugama Department of Sekolah Tinggi Perempuan Raja Isteri (STPRI)
Secondary School.
During the visit the students and
teachers were given a presentation by the Executive Business
Development Division, Haji Sahroll.
The students and teachers were
briefed on the roles of IDBB as well as some information regarding its
well-diversified products and services and especially on the Al-Wadiah
Education Account and Al Mudharabah Savings Account.
The school visit, which was the first
ever to IDBB was aimed to expose students to a different study
environment and to promote their basic knowledge on banking and
particularly on the Islamic way of banking in Brunei.
The students comprised those from
Secondary 3 to 6 who were interested to understand and enhance their
knowledge on the bank's role as well as its products and services.
Before the end of the presentation,
students were given a fun quiz to test their knowledge on what was
briefed.
The students told the Bulletin that
their visit was exciting and beneficial for them and will also help in
their school reports as well as broaden their knowledge on banking.
Hj Mohd Ali Sanusi, who led the
entourage expressed his gratitude to IDBB for the visit as well as for
providing beneficial information for all the students and teachers.
