The Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna
Secondary School awarded its best students for the year 2002 in a
ceremony held at the multipurpose hall of the school yesterday
morning. The ceremony was attended by the guest of honour Dayang Apsah
bte Haji Abdul Majid, the Acting Director of Schools of the Ministry
of Education.
In her speech, she said that although
the school has just reached its tender age of 13 years of
establishment, it has already made a significant increase of
"O" level passes for the past year as compared to other
well-established schools.
She went on to say that with the
increase of "O" level passes to 80.39% last year it is clear
that the school is moving fast toward a high performing school within
a short time.
"A big part of the success is
due to the school commitment of contributing value- added education
like extra classes, remedial classes and a continued awareness on
student development."
After her speech, the Acting Director
of Schools presented awards to the best students for the year 2002.
The school principal, Cikgu Pengiran
Hajah Sarah bte Pengiran Haji Kamaluddin was also present at the
function.
Awards and certificates were given to
students with the best "O" level results, "N"
level results, PMB results and best primary Ugama school results.
The best " O" level result
went to Azyan Syuaidah bte Mohd Zaini while the best "N"
level results went to Daratul Ain Ismail and Nurhazirah Binti Haji
Ismail received the award for best results in PMB.
In an interview, Azyan Syuaidah said
that her secret to success was simply to prepare early, work hard and
to always revise the materials taught in the class.
She added that her parents also
inspired her to achieve the outstanding performance.
