Heat Still On Muslims Drinking Across Border

Bandar Seri Begawan - Heat is still on Muslims who drink across the border in Sarawak town of Limbang as another operation entitled 'Semerbak 6' was put in action yesterday.

Officials from the Religious Enforcement Department conducted investigations on four Muslims who were allegedly consuming alcohol and were asked to report to the department at appointed date.

During the operation a roadblock was erected in front of JKR Limau Manis nearby Jalan Kuala Lurah border outpost. The operation was co-ordinated by 11 members from the Limau Manis Police Station and led by Sergeant Major Hj Bakhri Hj Metussin.

11 officials from the Religious Enforcement Department led by Hj Abd Rahim Hj Jais also joined in the operation.

During the operation, six motorists paid compounded fines for traffic offences such as for unlawful resizing of license plate, noisy silencers and faulty license plate lights.
