It was a fun-filled day at the Muara
Beach as PEMODA organized a family day yesterday that was participated
by more than 300 enthusiastic families. Present as the guest of honour
to officiate the function was Hj Abdul Malik Bin Haji Mohammad, the
Head Youth Officer of the Youth and Sports Department.
"This association is the only
way for all the bike enthusiasts to strengthen their relationship with
bikers from neighbouring country. This creates new ideas and helps
engage ourselves in various activities," said the President of
PEMODA, Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Md Arshad, during the opening
ceremony.
He said that this year PEMODA has
again been appointed by the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources
through the Tourism Development Unit to manage the "International
Motorcross Challenge" which is expected to be held this June.
According to the president, this
association will also be involved in the Borneo Island Big Bikers
Festival to be held from September 17-24 in Kuching, Sarawak.
The aim of celebrating the PEMODA
Family Day was to foster close relationship with the current members,
to engage members' families in activities, keep up the spirit of the
team, and also to spread the awareness of a healthy lifestyle --
physically and mentally.
Various activities were organised
such as tug-of-war, golfing, lucky draw, and many more. To spice up
the event an aerobic session was also held.
