End of short-story writing
workshop

The Acting Director of the Malay
Language and Literature Bureau, Hj Abdul Hakim Hj Mohd Yassin, urged
relevant officers, staffs of the bureau and local writers to gain more
comprehensive knowledge and competencies on issues and development
pertaining the development of Malay language. He made the comment at
the closing ceremony of the three-day Short-story (Cerpin) writing
workshop 2003 held at the Language Bureau yesterday. He was commenting
on the short knowledge among some language officers with regards to
MABIM and MASTRA, saying that he was "surprised" by it.
As one of the language bureau's many
relentless efforts to sustain development of the Malay language, the
workshop was attended by some thirty local writers aimed at upgrading
the quality and enlarging the heritage of literature in the Sultanate.
The workshop was lead by Prof. Madia
Dr Andrs Lutfi Abas and Dr. Morshidi Hj Muhammad.
