1st Excellent Work Group held

The Youth and Sports Department held
an Excellent Work Group Convention 2003 for the first time at the
Kuliah Hall of the National Stadium Hassanal Bolkiah in the capital
yesterday morning. Present as the guest as honour was Awang Jafar Bin
Bangkol, the Director of the Youth and Sports.
"My congratulations to all the
committee members for their hardwork in making this convention a
success," the Director said in his welcoming remarks.
He added that the Excellent Work
Group (KKC) programme was one mechanism for an organisation to
identify the problems it faces. He said that the successful group
would represent the department to the convention to be held at the
Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports this August.
The director stressed that all
departments/units should form at least one or two groups to represent
them in the upcoming convention next year.
Awg Mawardi Bin Haji Mohammad, the
chairperson of the event in his address said that the achievement was
the effort from the unit exercise and source centre.
He added that the objectives of the
exercise are to create a better understanding between the officers and
staff involved, and that KKC is one of the dynamic management tool
that focuses on planning, bottom-up systematic and motivation spirit
development in solving the problems faced by each department.
He further stated that the use of the
workshop concept is to make it easy especially in the practical
exposure to the staff and he added that this initiative was with the
assistance of the Public Service Institutions from the Prime
Minister's Department. Later, the Championship Convention National KKC
of the TLC-Pharm group from the Ministry of Health performed at the
function.
A total of seven groups representing
TABAH, SEMAUN, BAKTI, TEGUH, WASPADA, R.U.B.S. and TRT participated in
this programme.
