Staff members of Ehsan Centre at
Kampong Bengkurong Masin took part in a seminar on "Fire Safety
Measures". The centre did not have any fire safety instructions
placed anywhere on the site, according to a source.
The seminar, she added, has therefore
provided them with an opportunity to learn what to do should any fire
emergencies break out.
The Fire Services Department would
place fire extinguishers around the centre, she informed the Borneo
Bulletin.
The talk was delivered by Awang
Noorzali bin Apong, the Deputy Station Officer of the Public Relations
and Education Unit of the Fire Services Department.
The objective of the seminar was to
create awareness about appropriate measures to be taken should fire
break out.
Moreover, to enhance their knowledge
about the causes of fire, the staff were taught the various
precautions to take in several dangerous scenarios and were provided
with information on how to use the fire extinguishers.
Staff members were reminded to never
forget to call the Fire Services during a fire. Awang Noorzali also
advised house tenants to have fire extinguishers placed in their homes
as well.
Also present were Hjh Siti Alam bte
Hj Ali and Roslan bin Hj Lamat, personnel from the Fire Services
