Drug Taking Soldier's Fate Hangs On Urine Test
By Malai FadleyRizal

Bandar Seri Begawan - Senior Magistrate Hj Abdullah Soefri yesterday ordered a Brunei soldier to pay a $1,500 fine or serve three months jail in default when he pleaded guilty to taking Syabu.

Sukorei Ahmad was found to have committed the offence when his urine sample taken by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) resulted positive for Methylamphetamine.

The NCB had arrested Sukorei during a raid in a house in Jalan Burrows at Berakas Camp.

The Senior Magistrate ordered for the defendant to have his urine tested again.

The results will be brought on a mention date on June 19.

It will then be decided whether Sukorei should be taken into the rehabilitation centre or undergo the NCB Supervision Programme. (Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin)
