Cleaning up Meragang Beach

Campaign was held partly to strengthen unity and encourage community
work

There were more than 150 participants
for the project
The Consultative Council of Kg Kapok
held a cleaning campaign last Sunday at Meragang Beach. More than one
hundred and fifty residents of the village and its surrounding areas
took part in the project, which was held partly to strengthen unity
and encourage community work.
The event was started with a reading
of the 'Al-Fatihah' by the Bilal of Kg Kapok Mosque.
A welcoming speech was given by the
campaign's chairperson and village head, Awang Haji Mohammad Ali Abdul
Rahman.
This was followed by a few words from
Pg Abd Haris Pg Hj Shabudin, the Assistant Officer of Brunei-Muara
District and guest of honour, who also led the campaign on the day.
Also taking part to make the event a
success were officials from other government agencies, such as the
Department of Brunei-Muara District and Fire Department.
