About eleven Air Scout leaders headed by Kipper Abdul Jalil Dato Paduka Hj Marsal took part in the 2nd Sarawak Air Recreation Day 2003 held last month in Miri. Themed "Rekreasi Udara, Maju Belia, Negara Jaya", the three-day exhibition was officiated by Dato Seri Dr James Masing, Social Development and Urbanisation Minister of Sarawak.

Among the activities organised was an exhibition which was taken part by Sarawak Flying Club, Kedah Flying Club, Selangor Aero Sport Club, Aviation Clinics, Static and Air Exhibition and Joy rides.

An open sky exhibition covering flying pass formation, static and free fall parachute, power paragliders flying, remote control aircraft, helicopter rescue, abseiling/roping and fire fighting operations was also held.

The event gave an opportunity for two Brunei Air Scout flyers, Skipper Abdul Jalil and Skipper Syarmayuda, to be in command of the newly built EAGLE 150B Light Sport Aircraft (Malaysian made) and both flyers have about 25 minutes each in the Malaysian Airspace of Miri.

The venue for the 3rd Sarawak Air Recreation Day 2004 is scheduled in Bintulu, Sarawak.
