People Skills More Important Than Natural Resources Says Minister

Bandar Seri Begawan - Development Minister Dato Dr Haji Ahmad says national development is a major preoccupation of modern times.

It is an instinctive urge and it a response to man's quest for fulfilment materially and spiritually, and a yearning for better quality of life. To meet these requirements were the core task of the Development Ministry.

Dato Dr Haji Ahmad was speaking at the certificate presentation to the participants in the continuing Professional Development Programme of the Public Works Department on Saturday night.

The minister went on to say, that Brunei placed a high premium in acquiring skills and knowledge in enhancing human resource development.

He also pointed out that the economic growth and competitiveness of a nation will depend less on its natural resources but more in the resourcefulness and resilience of its people.

The certificate recipients were more than 50 engineers of the Public Works Department who took the MBA Management course with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
